Medical Roleplay
Since 2013 we have been a ‘trusted provider’ by Health Education England.
We work across all medical professions from GP, Psychiatry, Nursing and beyond
Our actors are trained and have a working knowledge of many models, including Calgary Cambridge. We cater for face-to-face interactions but also over the phone and online.

Film Production
Films that teach.
Most clients come to us with an idea rather than a script. A moment in practice that keeps going wrong. A new policy that needs to land with three thousand staff. A scenario that's almost impossible to teach in a room. What they don't have is a production team.
That's where we come in.
Simpatico now produces films in-house — crew, equipment, talent, writers and the know-how to get it right, under one roof.
We've spent over a decade putting actors into hospitals, medical schools and simulation suites, which means we don't approach your project as filmmakers guessing at healthcare. We know what a realistic consultation looks like. We know why a raised eyebrow in the wrong frame will have your faculty arguing for a fortnight. And we know how to cast it properly, because casting is what we've always done.
From an idea to a finished film
You bring the brief — however rough. We handle the rest: scripting and scenario development, casting from our roster of experienced medical roleplayers and professional actors, location scouting or studio, filming, direction, editing, subtitling and delivery in whatever format your VLE or comms team needs.
If you already have a script and just need it shot, that works too. If you have a budget and a deadline and very little else, that works as well.
Recent work
Martha's Rule — Queen Elizabeth Hospital, King's Lynn (NHS). A training film supporting the rollout of Martha's Rule, helping staff recognise escalation and respond to families raising concerns about a deteriorating patient.
Mental Health Act assessments — University of Cambridge School of Clinical Medicine. A teaching film covering assessment under the Mental Health Act, produced for use in undergraduate medical education.
Every budget, properly made
A single-scenario film shot in a morning and a multi-day series with a full crew are very different projects, and we're happy to make either. What doesn't change is the standard: professional actors, proper sound, clean edits, and a film your organisation is glad to put its name on.

Role-Players for Exams
Our actors are frequently used for exams such as SCEE, OSCE, RCA ,CSA ADD MORE.
Including mock sessions.
They understand the importance of consistency with performances, being professional and staying within their role throughout and are aware of exam protocols and standards. They work with you and the examiners to ensure examinations run as smoothly as possible.
Veterinary
Our actors bring to life the emotional journeys of animal owners with experience in a wide variety of cases such as household pets, farm animals and equine.
We work closely with Cambridge University Veterinary School preparing them for their OSCEs. We also work with independent vets and previously with VDS.
